News around F4L: Celebrating success, Amazing Causes & Upcoming Events

News from around the First4Lawyers Group.

Our incredible people

Earlier this year, our Head of Legal Services, Jacqueline Busby, took on a remarkable personal challenge, walking 100km to raise funds and awareness for Ovarian Cancer Action, a charity close to her heart.

“This challenge was about honouring my mum's strength, raising awareness, and supporting other women facing this disease. The generosity and encouragement I received was overwhelming—I'm so grateful for every donation and message of support.” – Jax

The cause is deeply personal for Jax, whose mother, Karen, bravely battled ovarian cancer for 10 years. Motivated by her mum’s strength and resilience, Jax set out to honour her legacy in the most meaningful way she knew: through action.Joined by her three sisters and supported by friends, family, and colleagues, Jax walked her way to an incredible £1,152 raised for Ovarian Cancer Action.

We also saw two of our First4InjuryClaims team take on their own challenges to support charities close to them. Abbie Hill recently took on a heartfelt challenge to raise funds for Combat Stress, a charity dedicated to providing mental health support to veterans across the UK.

“Growing up on military bases and having close family members who served in the forces, I’ve seen firsthand the impact military life can have not just on the mental health of those who serve but on loved ones ,” Abbie shared.

Abbie had recently taken up walking for her health and saw the charity walk as a perfect opportunity to combine personal wellness with a meaningful cause, raising £252 for Combat Stress.

Matthew Wormald has also competed in a charity boxing event for #ANDYSMANCLUB, helping to raise a staggering £27,422 through a range of charities through the event.

Matthew said: ‘’The reason I chose this cause is because I look up to the work they do due to my own experiences, and I wanted to raise awareness. It’s an amazing charity helping so many. The final night was one I’ll never forget. Standing in front of a crowd of hundreds, with family and friends watching, was surreal and nerve-wracking, but an unbelievable experience. This is a challenge I never thought I’d do.''
